DAY 1 ..... Travel to the mountains of West Virginia, stopping at Glade Creek Grist Mill, and then New River Gorge Bridge. Dinner included at SMokey's on the Gorge, featured on the Food Network's "Best of" list. 3 nights lodging in Beckley.
DAY 2 ..... Breakfast included at the hotel this morning before departing for a tour of the North House, built in 1820. Free time for shopping and lunch in downtown Lewisburg. Next stop is Greenbrier Resort, which was formerly the top-secret Government Relocation Facility. Bunker tour at the resort. Dinner included tonight, followed by a historical outdoor drama at the Theatre West Virginia.
DAY 3 ..... Breakfast included at the hotel this morning. Today ride the aerial scenic tram to the bottom of the New River Gorge Canyon. Take a ride on the covered jetboat on the New River. Visit the Historic Fayette Theater with lunch included at the Historic White Horse Bed and Breafkast. Return to Beckley and visit the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine where you travel 1500 feet underfround in authentic mining cars. This evening visit Tamarack with over 1200 artisans offering juried crafts. Dinner included tonight.
DAY 4 .... Following breakfast visit the Carnifex Ferry Battlefield State Park. See beautiful views overlooking the Gauley River Canyon and Long Point. Travel home with memories of newly discovered West Virginia.
